Andrea Greenberg If we are lucky, we have one special teacher that we can call our favorite. Well Mr. Hodges is mine. Not only is he highly intelligent, but he approaches teaching with creativity and a sense of adventure. Some of my best memories are taking botanical nature hikes, while he would point out different plant varietals. He would also read to us classic stories, which was so much more enjoyable, than reading them on our own! --- Andrea Greenberg, Cumulus Media

Michael Wilson Randy is truly a gifted educator. His gifted teaching comes from the heart. He applies himself with complete commitment and passion. He was instrumental in my education as a child. Through his efforts he was able to take the entire class hiking to the top of Half Dome, which is one of my greatest memories to this day. To say he is knowledgeable in science, math and computer science is an understatement. I owe a lot of my success to his teaching and attention. I can without hesitation recommend him to anyone seeking a great employee....

Russell Hays Randy (Mr. Hodges) was my favorite teacher. I would not have survived algebra without him, let a lone high school. He has a very easy going style about him that kept us calm about seemingly overwhelming circumstances. He taught us a lot about problem solving and leadership. I've also known him to be great at looking out for the underdogs. Randy is also incredibly patient. I know I was guilty of asking dumb, repeated questions and he always greeted them with a calm smile and laugh. It set us at ease, creating a great learning environment. I also appreciate his love for the outdoors, his industrious computer skills and his love for learning - teaching us to do the same. I will always be indebted to Randy and his whole family really, for the impact they've had in my life during those impressionable high school years. It's been a pleasure keeping in touch over the years - he's still leading by example!

Kelly Glemann Beyermann There have been many times in the past 35 years that I have used Randy Hodges as an example of what defines good teaching! It was obvious (even to a teenager) that he loved the topics he taught, cared about his students, and wanted to instill a passion for learning in all the young minds to pass through his classroom. My greatest personal educational struggle was Algebra and I remember that he had an abundance of patience for someone who just didn’t get it! As one who changed schools with unfortunate frequency, I have had more than my fair share of instructors. I can say with absolute conviction, Randy Hodges showed the greatest passion and enthusiasm for teaching. (My deepest gratitude to you, Randy!)

Lisa Routley Hi Mr Hodges! I remember what a warmth and genuine interest you had in all of us. I was devastated when they took the 6th graders out your class (we had to go to Mr Warners class). I loved our drama class. I got second place for my monolog when we went for a competition in Vallejo I think? Rusty put it perfectly. Those were great and terrifying years. You made them great. Thank you!

Dan Smith Randy, Randy, Randy,......I can say that now I am older then you were then when you were my teacher ( I think). That is credit to both of us. Rusty was right. Incredible amount of patience. Probably from your dad. God bless Jerry... Working with plumbing and electrical day in and day out, it is the key principles of chemistry and geometry that you instilled in me that has led to my success. Thank you. My mom may not ever forgive you for that first day of school 1985, (HAHA) but I will always look back at that time as me be coming a man from being kid. Thank you again Randy. You have impacted more lives then you realize.
